A trip to the state wrestling tournament is a regular occurrence for the Colleyville Heritage wrestling program, and judging by who is on the horizon, that does not look like it will change any time soon.

Seven games into the summer hockey season, the Colleyville Heritage varsity team was 2-4-1 and coming off a 12-1 loss to Flower Mound.

Colleyville Heritage never flinched when it was placed into one of the toughest brackets of the FSN Southwest 7-on-7 state tournament.

Grapevine Golf Course Hosts Junior Tournament

The Grapevine Golf Course hosts the Grapevine Jr. Championship Tournament on July 29.

Each participant will receive a gift and a sack lunch. Awards will be given to the top three finalists in each age category.

The wait is almost over for the Grapevine tennis team, as their new, state of the art training facility will be completed in nearly a week.

The heat of the summer only seems to make the high school football season seem that much further away. Appetites are swelling for its return faster than the minutes are ticking off the clock.

Colleyville Heritage’s 7-on-7 program followers know the state tournament so well, they could probably quote to you the Friday and Saturday agenda without ever looking at the itinerary.

Sting West Win Flamefest

The Sting West 97 girls soccer team recently won the 2008 Flamefest soccer tournament. The Sting West team draws players from Fort Worth, Keller, Southlake, Colleyville, Saginaw, Haslet and Burleson.

When international softball teams finish competition in this year’s Summer Olympics, it will be the last time those players take the field as Olympians for at least eight years.
